Gerbounka, who served twelve years on the city council as an independent. Gerbounka barely defeated long time mayor, John Gregorio with a vote of 4,786 to 4,717. Newark International Airport is located only fifteen minutes away, making air transportation to and from Linden, NJ quite easy.
